The Legacy at North Augusta—A National Lutheran Community (TLNA) participated in its annual spirit week leading up to the local Walk to End Alzheimer’s. Spirit week included themed days where staff and residents were invited to dress up, including crazy hair and hat day, sports day, island day and purple day. Staff came to work adorned in colorful wigs and hats, floral patterned shirts, and Redskins apparel to show their support.
The end of the week featured the very popular pie-in-the-face competition. Staff and residents are encouraged to put money in jars designated for various staff members. The employees with the most money receive a pie in the face. Residents enthusiastically had the privilege of decorating the top three earners with the pies.
On September 10, The Legacy Legs team—comprised of 20 —participated in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s at Ridgeview Park in Waynesboro, Va. The team walked two miles in solidarity with smiles on their faces to support the cause. In total, TLNA's residents and staff raised $2,677.92 for the Alzheimer’s Association.
